29 Jan What is a Wellness Coach?
As noted in this week's free eNewsletter we're very happy to welcome a new member to The Happiness Institute team. Jen is a "wellness coach" and because this is a little different to what we've offered in the past we thought we'd explain a little bit about what that title means and what Jen does…
You may have heard of wellness coaches, but not really understood what it is that they do. Essentially, a wellness coach assists you in becoming the best version of yourself through guidance and support. Your coach wants you to feel empowered, will help motivate you, and increase your confidence to make the changes that are important to you. Wellness coaches educate, encourage, and work with you to make positive changes that improve your health and wellbeing.
When you work with a wellness coach you will:
-
Discover factors that motivate you
-
Set meaningful and achievable goals
-
Explore potential factors that will increase your success
-
Explore potential barriers and come up with strategies to overcome these
-
Increase your readiness to make positive changes
-
Increase your confidence and ability to make positive changes
-
Accomplish your goals
-
Determine techniques to make these changes lifelong healthy habits
Depending on your goal/s you may focus on:
-
Weight loss
-
Weight management
-
Increasing energy
-
Time management skills
-
Nutrition skills
-
Exercise skills
-
Stress management
-
Increasing mental clarity
-
Relaxation techniques…
…or ALL of the above!
