Hope is not wishful thinking

Hope is not wishful thinking

Hope is a key contributor to happiness and wellbeing.

In fact, it’s hard to imagine living a truly happy life without hope. At it’s extreme, hopelessness is at the heart of depression, and suicidality, whereas hope provides motivation and inspiration to live and to live well.

But hope is not the same as wishful thinking; hope is NOT about sitting and waiting for things to be or to get better.

Real hope can be thought of as a verb; it’s a way of living and acting that begins by seeing the best in the world and especially, all the best future possibilities, but hope is also something that should drive positive action, to change and improve in any and all areas of one’s life.

So, foster and develop hope by practising gratitude and by planning to make your life, and your world, as good as it can be. It’s a long-term project but it’s definitely worth it!
