Shifting happiness from selfishness to selflessness – Tip 5

Shifting happiness from selfishness to selflessness – Tip 5

And so here we are at our final tip in this series.

Just to recap, we’ve learned so far that giving is good for our (1) emotional wellbeing, (2) relationships and sense of connectedness, (3) our sense of purpose and (4) mental health via reductions it provides to stress and anxiety.

So, what will our final tip be?

Tip 5 highlights another powerful benefit not just for us, but for all those around us.

Giving inspires more kindness, both in ourselves and others. When we give, we often receive gratitude and appreciation, which motivates further acts of kindness, creating a cycle of happiness.

How great would it be if we all contributed to, and helped maintain, upward positive cycles of goodness?

By doing good and encouraging others to do good, the goodness proliferates throughout social and occupational networks making the positivity spread far and wide!

That sounds like the world I’d like to live in, and the good news is … we can all contribute to this!
