21 Mar Managing news and social media – Tip 5
And so we come to the end (of this series, anyway). Number 5 in 5 tips for better managing the way you allow news and social media into and to be part of your life.
I hope the previous 4 tips have been helpful; either way, feel free to let me know and/or to share with others.
But for now, our final tip … as always, remember you’re not alone and you don’t need to manage this all on your own.
There are many great people and great resources out there, willing and able to help if you let them. So before we wrap up this series, here are my final tips for your due consideration …
- Seek support in any way you can, in any way that works for you
- Connect with loved ones: Talk to friends and family about your concerns, and don’t be afraid to ask them what, if anything, has helped them in this domain
- Consider professional help: If anxiety or depression related to news consumption is severe, consult a mental health professional
So, there you have it. Five tips for managing (at least part of) your online life. Don’t be disappointed if it doesn’t all magically work straight away. Rather, make a commitment to persevere for as long as you can, trialling out different tips in different ways until you find what works for you.
Best of luck with it all and … as always, if you’ve found these posts helpful please share with family, friends and colleagues and invite them to sign up to receive notifications whenever I publish new articles on this blog page. Thanks in advance and … keep well! Dr Tim
