Creating Happiness Series (Post 2)

Creating Happiness Series (Post 2)

Following on from Post 1, today I’d like to share another simple but potentially powerful happiness boosting strategy.

And it’s not dissimilar to the first strategy I’ve already outlined.

But his time, rather than just focusing on identifying and then planning more pleasurable and enjoyable activities, this time it’s all about creating more … satisfaction and accomplishment.

You see, happiness is more than just feeling good. It’s also that sense we get when we DO GOOD (even when doing good is hard).

Think back on that last project you completed; if it was meaningful, it probably wasn’t easy, at least not all of it or every day.

But that sense of achievement we experience when we complete something that has to be done, or something that’s challenging, is definitely a part of living a good life, a life with thriving and flourishing.

Set yourself, then, a meaningful goal that you know will stretch you (even if just a bit). Break it down into manageable chunks and give yourself a realistic time frame and then, plan it out, put it in your diary, reward yourself for any small step you take and then … keep an eye out for feelings of pride, gratification and contentment.
