17 Dec My life goal now that I’ve given up on a great life
Like many people, I’ve spent most of my life aiming to live a great life; a life filled with health and wellbeing, happiness and success.
But more recently I’ve realised that’s a BIG ask; in fact, it might be a bit too much to hope for.
I don’t mean this in a negative way; but more so, it’s a reflection of MY DEFINITION of what a great life might be. And that was one where I was happy all the time and succeeded at everything I did all the time.
You can probably now guess that the title of this post is not really about giving up on a great life, but adjusting my expectations and being more realistic so that what I’m aiming for … is more achievable.
My new goal is still a positive one, but it’s now more about … experiencing great moments.
Not everything will work out and not every moment of every day will be wonderfully blissful. And that’s OK.
But I’m aiming to be happy if I can have SOME good moments on at least SOME days. That’s still pretty good. And if I exceed that then, well … BONUS!
So here’s to a new year with a new definition of what my best life might look like. I’m excited about it and I hope you’re also excited about what your future holds for you.
