Is it just me or does anyone else feel like the news is broken?
Almost everything that’s reported is doom and gloom, is about destruction and devastation.
Don’t get me wrong, there are some seriously concerning issues in the world right now, and these stories need to be told.
But they’re not the only stories; because there are also great people doing great things, inspirational progress in areas as seemingly troublesome as politics and the environment, disease and discrimination.
Thankfully, there are some who’re doing their bit to rectify things, to FIX THE NEWS. And in fact, FIX THE NEWS is the name of an Australian based media platform dedicated to reporting more on positive progress in all areas of life.
This is not just important from the perspective of perspective; it’s also important from a mental health perspective. Many, like me, find the news exacerbates their anxiety and depression, creates hopelessness and helplessness. But I can honestly say that reading FIX THE NEWS gives me hope and provides me with a greater sense of confidence that we’ll all be OK.

And although much of their content is free, thanks to the wonderful founder, Angus Hervey, even that which is normally behind the paywall can be accessed by teachers and mental health professionals who’d like to use it within their classrooms and therapy settings. How good is that! Just hit up Angus if you’re interested in learning more
