This week’s wrap up of interesting happiness articles

This week’s wrap up of interesting happiness articles

It’s Friday again. And that means it’s (usually) time to share a few articles that for some reason or other, I’ve found interesting and thought you might also find useful.

Not surprisingly, they all related to happiness in some way or other, and if not directly happiness related then they all have some connection to living well, wellbeing, resilience, positive psychology or … well, I think you get the idea : )

And so, for this week, here are a few for your reading pleasure:

  • It’s hard to be happy if you’re feeling overwhelmed all the time. It’s much easier to enjoy happiness if you read the writings of Arthur C Brooks who’s work in the Atlantic is consistently great. In one of his latest articles he writes about saying “no” as a path to feel less overwhelmed, and more happy … you can find it HERE
  • This one might sound ridiculously oversimplified, and in some ways it is, but it’s also supported by some good research and so is well worth a few minutes of your time. Check out “Smiling is the secret to seeing happiness” … HERE
  • One of the strongest findings from the research into happiness and more broadly, positive psychology and wellbeing, is that positive relationships are key contributors to pretty much everything that’s great! But one aspect of this that’s often overlooked is the benefit that comes from less intimate relationships, from acquaintances or what might be referred to as “second tier relationships“. Learn more about this fascinating phenomenon … HERE

As always, I hope you find something of value in these articles. And I hope you have a great March! Keep well & keep smiling … Dr Tim
