18 Feb Answer these 10 questions to enjoy more happiness and a better life
More often than not, those who’re seeking happiness or contentment, striving for success of something similar, spend their time looking for answers.
Which makes sense and is a great idea.
But, and this is an important but, this approach only works if you ask the right questions. And in my experience, too many people don’t know what questions to ask.
So today, I’m going to share with you some great questions that I’ve found helpful, and questions that many of my coaching clients have used as a starting point to discover their answers. And this last point is worth noting before we continue. You need to find your answers. We’re all different, and so we’ll all have different answers.
You might even need different questions! So, if the following prompts to resonate with you then feel free to modify them and/or make up your own.
With all that in mind, here are my top 10 questions for living a happy and good life:
- What would a great life, a happy and satisfying life, really look like?
- What are your values and priorities and how can you use these to guide your day to day behaviours?
- What do you need to do to maximise your energy, to boost your vitality so you can do what you want to do?
- What’s going well in your life? And for what are grateful?
- How can you keep stressors and problems in perspective, so they don’t overwhelm you?
- Who do you love spending time with?
- Who loves spending time with you?
- Are you using your psychological strengths, your positive attributes, as often as you can and in as many life domains as possible?
- How can you remove “energy drainers” from your life?
- And, where and when do you have fun (and can you have more fun)?
As someone who’s spent the best part of his life as a therapist, then a coach and more recently as a mentor / advisor / consultant, I’ve asked hundreds, if not thousands of questions. So, this list could be a lot longer. But I hope it gets you started on the path to finding some clarity, some answers, which will then help you start moving close to living your best possible life.
