29 Oct Things NOT TO DO if you want to be happy
Happiness comes from practising positive behaviours,
Happiness also comes from not practising, or avoiding, negative and self-defeating behaviours.
Here are a few things I suggest you DON’T do, or try to STOP doing, if you want to enjoy more happiness …
- DON’T dwell on the past or ruminate about things that can’t be changed
- DON’T get so lost in the here and now that you forget to plan for the future
- DON’T worry about things in the future that have not happened yet (and might not ever happen)
- DON’T repeat the same mistakes over and over again (learn!)
- DON’T believe you have to do it all on your own (reach out and connect, in good times and bad)
- DON’T not do something just because it’s hard; sometimes good and worthwhile things ARE hard. Do them anyway
- DON’T just follow this/ my list! Or anyone else’s list. Create your own!
Happiness isn’t always easy. But it is possible, and it is easier, if you do more of the right things and less of the wrong things. Keep trying, keep learning, and keep working and walking towards a happier and better life.
