10 Oct Making mistakes is NOT the problem!
Before I get started on this post, if you’re perfect then you can stop reading and close this page!
If, however, you’re like MOST of us, and normally imperfect, then keep reading …
Obviously, those first few sentences were written half-jokingly; because NONE of us is perfect. As humans, we’re fallible and faulty and we all have faults and failings.
That’s OK. That’s normal. Making mistakes is not a problem at all!
In fact, if you’re not making mistakes, you’re probably not trying enough new things, or growing enough. You may well be playing it too safe!
So, if making mistakes isn’t a problem, what, then, is the problem?
Well, in this case, it’s NOT LEARNING from mistakes. Making a mistake is fine; making the same mistake two or three times is careless. Making the same mistake over and over again is problematic!
Alternatively, learning from mistakes is healthy. It leads to growth and improvement and ultimately, more wisdom and happiness and a better life.
I’d go so far as to say, that happiness requires mistakes. Happiness needs mistakes. But most of all, happiness comes from learning from our mistakes!
So, go out there and fail; but fail well, and fail your way to growth : )
