If you’re a happiness seeker then you’ve almost certainly read one or more self-help books. If you experience mental ill-health you’ve probably done the same.

Not all self-help books can be recommended; but there are undoubtedly MANY very good ones; and many that will provide useful and evidence backed suggestions for happiness and living a better life.

I recently asked members of the BuzzFeed Community which quotes from self-help books they reaaaally found useful. And because I’m a HUGE advice book nerd, I threw in a few impactful pointers I’ve picked up as well. Here are the most useful tidbits:
