21 Jul Could pessimism actually lead to happiness?
Positive psychology research into happiness cast some doubts over the benefits of optimism and positive thinking…but only when the positive thinking is UNREALISTIC! Real optimism, as far as I’m concerned, is positive BUT also realistic and flexible. Nevertheless, this article is worth considering but I encourage you to be careful about how you interpret the conclusions. There’s nothing wrong with positive thinking and optimism, in fact it’s undoubtedly good for you, as long as your thoughts are helpful, constructive and (again) realistic.
