Teaching happiness in schools is proving to be somewhat controversial as the quote below indicates:
“Happiness lessons” that are used in many schools to teach children to be sensitive, empathetic and caring are under threat from a new hardline approach that advocates mental toughness.
But the more academically valid “happiness lessons”, or more accurately positive psychology interventions and programs, are not just about sensitivity and empathy but more often also include elements of resilience and…toughness.
Accordingly, I think some of the concerns expressed in this artice are slightly invalid but nevertheless, it’s an interesting piece for anyone interested in happiness, positive psychology, positive education and coaching with children.
