Happiness, wellbeing and economic growth

As most of you probably know I’m a positive psychologist specialising in coaching and consulting with a simple goal to enhance happiness in as many individuals and organisations as possible!

I know little about politics and economics.

But for several years now I’ve been reading and enjoying the writings of one of Australia’s leading economic writers, Ross Gittens, who has shown numerous times that he has a wonderful appreciation not just of economic factors but also, of matters relating to happiness, positive psychology and wellness.

Once again, in today’s Sydney Morning Herald, he’s written with balance, wisdom and (as he often does) a touch of humour. He puts forward a good case for not just focusing on economic growth (simply for growth’s sake) but for also paying heed to issues of happiness and wellbeing.
