19 Oct Happiness and fun
At The Happiness Institute, we’re looking to do some “pro bono” work with a wonderful charity called Camp Quality (www.campquality.org.au). Camp Quality is a non profit organisation that is committed to bringing hope and happiness to every child living with cancer, their families and communities through ongoing quality recreational, educational, hospital and financial support programs.
One of their motto is “laughter is the best medicine” and we’re looking to help them elaborate on this further, while also developing their focus on optimism as a core strategy for happiness.
But this isn’t the reason for this posting. The reason for this posting is that I recently received a copy of their latest annual report. Now most of you might not automatically associate annual reports with happiness or fun but the great thing about Camp Quality is that they apply their motto in everything they do…including the design and publication of even their financial documents. They’ve won international rewards for their annual reports and the reason is…they’re fun, colourful, entertaining and they make the reader smile. Quite simply, they bring about happiness and I think there’s an important happiness lesson in this for us all.
Try to find ways to make everything you do fun and enjoyable. Try to bring colour and laughter into any and every task and activity. If you can do this even just a little more…you’ll almost certainly enjoy more happiness!
