05 May Benefits of therapy for depression and life coaching for happiness
An important research study published its findings recently and claimed to have found evidence supporting the notion that regular, monthly therapy sessions were helpful in staving off relapse in depression. This is not surprising as depression has for some time now been considered a relapsing condition and its not hard to understand why ongoing sessions with a therapist would help an individual maintain the use of helpful coping strategies.
I’ve no doubt the same would be true for happiness…there’s no doubt that clients who attend our happiness coaching courses report feeling happier and more in control of their lives after the program but there’s also little doubt that many are at risk of slipping back into old habits once left on their own.
So for ongoing happiness consider regular life coaching sessions with an appropriately qualified coach, trained in the theory and application of positive psychology principles such as those advocated at The Happiness Institute.
