26 Apr Key to Mum’s happiness
Are you a mother (or, for that matter, a father) and searching for happiness?
Psychologists are now saying that the joy of motherhood is getting challenged by the stress of motherhood. There is an increasing amount of evidence to suggest that many women are struggling to find the time to simply enjoy their young kids.
The University of Michigan recently conducted a study that looked at 900 women. They were asked to make a list of activities they found pleasurable and rank them. Taking care of the kids ranked lower than eating, exercising and even watching TV.
Psychologists in that report say once you stop expecting motherhood to feel warm and fuzzy all the time, life as a mother gets easier. They also found that getting one extra hour of sleep each night had a bigger effect on happiness than earning an additional $60,000 in annual income.
