Employees motivated by happiness not money

Workers in the UK are more inclined to expreience happiness in their place of employment if they enjoy their job, rather than if it pays well.

New research by recruitment specialists Brooke Street found that 37 per cent of the UK workforce is motivated by job satisfaction (a form of happiness), while just 28 per cent are driven by the prospect of financial reward.

Moreover, the study also revealed that just 12 per cent of people consider praise from their manager as their main source of motivation and just seven per cent of people said they are encouraged by having responsibility.
