Could a couple’s long term happiness be linked to sleeping in separate rooms?

American couples are increasingly opting to sleep in separate bedrooms to keep their marriages happy, according to new research.

Builders and architects questioned by the US National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) predicted that by 2015, 60% of custom-built homes will have two master bedroom suites.

Others opt for extra sleeping ‘nooks’ off the main bedroom. Experts say the trend tends not to be linked to sex but to the quest to get more sleep.
