05 Mar Happiness – less is more!
THE happiest people in Australia are not well off. And most of them live outside our big cities. Researchers have found that money really doesn’t buy happiness.
Indeed, quite the opposite.
According to a Deakin University study, the most miserable people in the country live in Sydney’s most affluent suburbs.
Meanwhile, some people in the poorest areas in the country are much more satisfied with their lives.
The study found that the happiest areas had lower population, more people aged over 55, more women, more married couples and less income inequality. That last point is interesting.
