If you can just do this ONE THING each day, you’ll enjoy more happiness and a better life!

I usually resist the sensational headlines that claim there’s a “secret” to happiness or that you just need to do this one special thing to achieve your goals and live a healthy happy life forever and ever!

And yet, I’ve just done it #facepalm

But if you keep on reading you’ll find, hopefully, that what I’m offering is not some false hope or unrealistic promise for happiness in some ridiculous way; but rather, a very real and effective path to happiness, and more, that’s based on the power of simplicity.

So, what is this “one thing” you should do each day?

Well, it is … just one thing. Anything! Well maybe not anything but anything that works for you, anything that in some way or other enhances your quality of life, your life satisfaction, your health and wellbeing and yes, your happiness!

The point of this is that too often, too many of us think we need to do too much. Obviously, there’s no “one thing” that will create more happiness for all of us all of the time, but if we try to do ALL THE THINGS then we can feel overwhelmed, we can set ourselves up for failure, we can fall into a form of paralysis that doesn’t help anyone.

The idea is, then, that just focusing on ONE HAPPINESS HABIT, each and every day, is doable, it’s achievable, and if it brings some joy and positivity then it will also provide motivation and inspiration to do more. Which might bring even more happiness and life success and … well, onwards and upwards!

So, have a comprehensive happiness plan; by all means. But don’t try to do it all, all at once. Just do one thing, each and every day, and then if you’re able to do more then great. But that one thing, maybe exercise or meditation, gratitude practice or connection with others, done regularly and repeatedly will add up like compound interest and allow you to live a happy and good life, which is what we all want.
