Many people go through life on autopilot, doing the same things day after day without considering how their routines affect their lives. If you want to change your habits and create a better life for yourself, it’s important to pay attention to how you spend your time. Here are 7 things you should stop doing today if you want a happier life:

1. STOP talking to toxic people

Talking to negative, toxic people drains you of your energy and ruin your mood. It doesn’t matter if this person is your sister or your friend from elementary school; if someone leaves you feeling bad after you talk, avoid them. You should surround yourself with people who make you feel good about after being around and talking to them.

2. STOP regretting things

Regretting is a waste of time and energy. You can’t undo the things you have done, so why continue thinking about them? Conversely, if you wish you had done something in your past, then do it now; it’s never too late. If you wanted to train for a marathon when you were 20, you can do it now. If you wish you had made up with your former best friend after a big fight, contact her now. Sometimes you over analyze or fall under the ‘paralysis by analysis’ spell, which is normal, but you can’t continue torturing yourself about it. Instead of being miserable, realize that you can either let it go or do something about it now.

3. STOP procrastinating
